Frog Day at Wirrimbirra Sanctuary - Exhibitions and Shows

Frog Day at Wirrimbirra - Frogs are some of the most fascinating little creatures around. Sadly, their numbers are declining rapidly due to habitat loss. You can help stop this!

Take the family along to Wirrimbirra and learn just about everything you want to know about frogs. Find out how to attract frogs to your garden, and get answers to your frog-related questions.

There’ll be displays and activities right throughout the day and a wildlife expert will have plenty of information and hands-on opportunities for everyone.

Look for the display of frog-friendly plants in Wirrimbirra's Native Nursery, and say hello to their resident native fauna - kangaroos, wallabies, emus, wombats, cockatoos, dingoes, tawny frogmouths, and rainbow lorikeets.

Entry to the sanctuary is free, but, by dropping a donation into the bucket on your way in, you will help the work at the Sanctuary continue.

Open Time

10am to 3pm

COOL FACTS ABOUT FROGS;

  • Did you know that a group of frogs is called an ‘army’?
    (A group of toads is called a ‘knot’.)

  • Frogs don’t drink water they absorb it through their skin.

  • Frog bones form a ring when the frog is hibernating, just like trees do. Scientists can use these rings to figure out the age of a frog.
